Information shared from Richard Burch regarding the passing of his father.
“It is with great sadness that I announce that my father, Richard W. “Sarge” Burch, Sr.,89, lost his battle with cancer on 04/15/2026.
Family and friends are invited to his funeral service on May 1st, 2026. Lakeside Funeral Home (121 Claremore Dr Woodstock, GA 30188) will host a visitation (10AM) followed by a service (12PM). He will be buried with full military honors at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made in his name to either Operation Smile or the Wounded Warrior Project.

Sarge was a mainstay at the Everett’s Music Barn and often served as Emcee for the Spring and Fall benefit shows there at the barn. Sarge was a great supporter of Bluegrass Music and was a huge fan of the Stanley brothers!
